WELCOME!

First of all, let us introduce ourselves, we are Javi, Unai, and Aitor.
Three random guys, from different parts of the world, that share a huge hobby: Photography. One standard day, we were discussing who--of the three of us--could take more impressive pictures, who has the best photographic gear, who was the most talented photographer, etc... so we had an interesting idea; Every few weeks we would propose a topic, where limited by specific rules, each one of us would have to figure out its way to present a single picture. This way, each time we would have three pictures of each topic. Once we have the pictures, we will announce that the poll is open for limited period of time, so people can vote for their favorite picture. After all the people have voted, we will post who was the winner of the challenge. Also, we will propose a few topics so people can vote for the next challenge topic as well. The three of us agreed that this was a great idea, not only to show who is the best photographer, but through a healthy friendly competition, learn everything we can about this magnificent hobby. And of course, to make it even more official, we came up with the idea of starting this website, where we would be posting the process and results of each challenge (go to "Challenges" tab to check it). After we had completed 12 challenges, we closed the 2014 year with the first season, but the second season is about to start, so get ready for more photo challenges to come! I hope you enjoy this friendly war as much as we do! |
Following, you can read a little bit more about us: |
Let me introduce myself, I am Aitor (I-tore...a piece of paper), born in the north of Spain, exactly in the Bay of Bidasoa 27 years ago. Currently I am permanently living in the midwest United States, in St. Louis City, Missouri.
Since I was little--but big enough to be able to push buttons, I started bothering everybody around with cameras. Every trip, hike, or any opportunity I had, I could take thousands of pictures. In general, all of them were pretty bad, basically because I didn't have any idea of what I was doing. To be honest, I couldn't afford to have a nice camera to learn with. In 2013 my path would change. Finally I got the opportunity to get my first DLSR camera, and from the first day I haven't stopped learning. Online tutorials, walks around the park, a lot of bad pictures, mini urban trips around St. Louis almost dying because of the cold... all of the experiences are important and are the ones that are improving my pictures. Even if sometimes I still feel like I am a newbie, after over 2 years of non-stop practice, multiples assigned photo sessions, and road trips full of days with no sleep to take "that" picture, I guess I could call myself a passionate (specially) experienced amateur photographer. |

Hi, my name is Javier Ortega (pronounced "Hah-bee"), I am Catalan, from Badalona (Barcelona) and I am 28 years old.
My love of photography comes by a story in Roma.April of 2010, I travel and I went to visit the city, until it finishes at La Fontana Di Trevi, says the legend that if you roll a currency back to the source, you will return to the city, if you roll two, will meet someone in the city and if three stripsyou will find love in it. As I was with my girl, just throw a lol, well... I didn't believe in that, is when I return to Barcelona I didn't at all return to Rome... it was at the end of 2010 when I purchased a camera SLR and was when I started to learn with Cattail and make better photos when I thought: cool would return to Rome knowing make good pictures...... Magic?...Today, I've come a long way in photography and I am putting me to learn well using photoshop, I have not yet gone to Rome..., but soon I will ask it in a challenge. now only need to win one... get it? To thank my great friend Moises Batista for helping me so much in my progress. The no had both progressed. |

You could say that I entered into the photography world because of, or thanks to, Javi.
There in June 2011 I bought my camera to explore the world of video shorts but without any intention to focus on photography--it was never something that captured my attention. My interest in photography sparked when Javi posted amazing photos on Facebook. I already had the camera and lenses so nothing would interfere with giving it a try. And so I did--one sunny day in the Spring of 2012 I took my camera and tripod under my arm, I got on my bike, and I went to take my first photos. |
